How Long Do I Really Need To Work Out?

Learn the optimal time you really have to work out so it does you some good.

When it comes to working out, most people seem to think that it will take up their entire day or ruin their schedules in some way. The truth is though, you really don't need that much time to set aside to get into the shape you want or to feel better.

I know professional athletes work out everyday and just about all day, but for the regular joe shmo, you do not need the same workout plan.

To get into better shape, increase your energy or loose weight you need roughly about 30-45 minutes a day. 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise about three days per week is plenty coupled with about 45 minutes of resistance training about twice a week. This is less time than a TV show generally and could even be done at the same time as watching your favorite show.

If you create and work on forming the habit of working out 30-45 minutes a day, you are guaranteed to see results, it is just a matter of time. Not only will you feel better but you will sleep better at night, have more energy and will have a better body image. I
02 you are not getting results as fast as you would like just be patient, they will come, it just takes a little time.

In fair warning, when you first start on your workout routine, take it slow. Do not expect to be able to run two or three miles right off the bat. Focus on walking and speed walking and then eventually kick it up to a jog. If you are breathing too heavily or cramping then bring it back down again. You will get there eventually, just don't beat yourself up in the mean time. Same goes with the weights. Start off light and then increase it over time. You should be able to do about 12 reps comfortably before increasing the resistance or weight. The goal isn't to be sore and not able to move the next day. You want to be able to function and stay encouraged to keep on the new workout regimen.
