By having a veterinarian in advance, you have the option, at the first signs of pet illness, to have someone take a look at your pet in your local area. Many offices in the pet health care field are unable to take on new patients. This is why it's important that you have a veterinarian in advance that you can turn to should trouble arise. If you have a pet health care emergency on your hands you don't want to have to search the yellow pages and hope someone might be able to see them that day.
