Everybody on the planet earth have some goal to achieve. They commit themselves and take every precaution to set their targets and make the appropriate action plan as per their knowledge, but yet they are unable to achieve their Goal.
This sounds bad? Isn’t it? But believe me its quite true. You dream of achieving something, define your goal, make the milestones, prepare the things to do and manage your time and efforts effectively, but still you fail. This may not be true for each and every goal you set, but at least with some of the goal you wanted to achieve.
Do you know why you fail? May be you know, or may be you don’t know, even though there is very little chance of you knowing the reasons and still failing. If you know the reasons of not succeeding and still failing, then I can assure you, there is something wrong with your determination, or the goal, or the action plan, or time management protocol you have in place. There could be so many factors.
But let me deal with the case where you don’t know the reasons of not succeeding.
The first and the foremost reason is make sure the Goal Setting protocol you have in place is quite clear to you. This can be checked if you answer following questions
1. You know what you want to achieve, Your goal should be very much clear to you. Do you think your goal is clear to you?
2. Before going further, you must ask yourself what will be the benefits of achieving this goal in your personal and professional life. Is it going to give you happiness and feelings of fulfillments?
3. Do you have the correct and appropriate goal setting practice in place?
4. Can you see your goals with open eyes? Is it written on a paper ? can you see your goals everyday, eve though you are busy?
5. Have you divided your goals into mini-goals or the milestones?
6. Have you prepared the action plan and an effective time management practice in place?
7. Are you feeling motivated enough to go ahead and succeed?
If your answers to the above questions are yes, then you should go ahead and there are high chances of you succeeding and achieving your goals.
Now, during the course of the execution of the tasks and the milestone if you feel things are not going in favor of you, then this could lead you to a state of mind where you will need enough motivation to boost-up your mental and physical energy level. If everything mentioned above are right in place then only reason could be the lack of motivation during the execution of your goal. You will need a lot of motivation in such state. Read the following section to know about how to keep yourself motivated.
How to Motivate Yourself?
Motivation is derived from the word motive, that means the cause of doing something. Have a solid cause and it will be very easy for you to get motivated to act for the cause. I believe that if you want to keep yourself motivated, you have to have to do something for it everyday. Motivation is like the breakfast, you have to take it everyday, else it may cost your health, same way you have to take some motivational dose for a good mental health. Different people gets motivation from different sources, though I find following are the best and the common to do to keep yourself motivated.
1. Don’t think of the pain you are getting today, rather think of the joy of achieving.
2. Read good articles, motivational quotes, motivational stories so that your mind can consume required motivation out of it.
3. Keep a list of appreciations, complements and awards and check them when you feel you need motivation. These complements and awards will motivate you to go ahead.
4. At times, remembering the bad times or a negative complements can also be motivating, if you are a positive thinker. You can get inspiration and motivation to go ahead and get a better feedback and complements from the one who gave you a bad feedback. Try this some time and you will find it’s a great way to keep yourself motivated.
5. Spare time to enjoy your personal life with family and friends
